GOD
WILLS EVERYONE TO BE SAVED AND TO COME TO KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH. 1 Timothy
2:4.
Jesus,
however, reveals that his passion, death on the cross and his resurrection will
be useless to the majority of men and women.
1)-EASTER
IS THE GREATEST FEAST OF THE YEAR. WE
CELEBRATE THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST FROM THE DEAD WITH GREAT JOY.
Our
lord Jesus conquered death, the world and satan. however, Jesus himself reveals that his
sufferings, his crucifixion and death on the cross will be completely useless
to the majority of men.
May
we read Jesus in his own words in
Matthew 7:13:
“Enter through
the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to
destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the
road that leads to life, and only a
few find it.”
Thus,
Jesus himself assures us the majority of men and women will be condemned to
hell.
2)-THE
REASON WHY THE MAJORITY OF MEN WILL BE DAMNED SEEMS SIMPLE.
The
whole of divine revelation teaches men are going to hell because they “believed in vain.”
Saint
Paul insists constantly on the absolute necessity not to accept any false
interpretations of the message of Jesus.
May
we read Saint Paul in his own words in 1 Corinthians 15:1-2:
“Now, brothers
and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you
received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you
are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.”
We
already studied to believe in vain means to accept as truthful a false belief.
3)-SAINT
PAUL REVEALS THERE IS ONLY ONE MESSAGE OF SALVATION.
In
his letter to the Galatians, Paul rebukes his Christians who committed a fatal
doctrinal error when they abandoned his teachings to accept false teachings of
impostors.
May
we read saint Paul in his own words in Galatians 1:1-9:
“No other gospel
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under god’s curse! as we have already said, so now I say again: if anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!”
4)-EACH
PERSON HAS THE OBLIGATION TO INVESTIGATE ITS OWN BELIEFS TO AVOID BELIEVING IN VAIN.
We
have already studied it is possible to believe in vain. to believe is simple. when i believe, I ask the person whom I
believe to guide my life. I become a
follower of the person who teaches me.
Thus,
before I commit my life to someone who teaches me, I must prove the veracity of
the teachings I receive. First of all, I
must verify if my preacher belongs to the successor of saint peter. If my preacher belongs to the apostolic
succession, he guides me into the truth.
If he does not belong to the church founded by Jesus on the apostles and
the Apostolic Succession, the preacher guides me away from salvation. Thus, his teachings are false.
5)-THE
PERSON TO WHOM JESUS ENTRUSTED THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
Jesus
chose saint Peter and only to him he
entrusted the keys of the kingdom of heaven.
I must follow this person chosen by Jesus to guide me in the path of
salvation.
May
we read Jesus in his own words in Matthew
16:16-19:
“ Simon
Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered
him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and
blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on
this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail
against it. I
will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven.”
In this revelation, Jesus entrusted each one of
us to a special leader chosen by
himself. To this leader in the faith, he
entrusted the keys of heaven.
6)-SAINT
PETER IS OUR FIRST LEADER IN THE FAITH.
This
revelation to saint peter is the most important in my life as a pilgrim of
eternity.
Jesus
identifies this leader to whom he entrusted each one of us in the path to
heaven.
May
we meditate the words of Jesus to Peter, our first Pope:
“Blessed are
you, Simon bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my
father who is in heaven. …I will give
you the keys of the kingdom of heaven,”
7)-JESUS CLARIFIES FOR US THE SUCCESSORS TO
SAINT PETER.
Jesus
knows well saint peter will die. Jesus
wanted to help us understand his will concerning the divine power he entrusted
to Peter. Jesus reveals the person
entrusted with the keys of heaven must be a pilgrim like all of us pilgrims to
the eternal life.
8)-JESUS
CLARIFIES THE VOCATION OF THE MAN
ENTRUSTED WITH THE KEYS OF HEAVEN.
This
person with the power of the keys must juge our problems with the faith on
earth. He must guide our beliefs as we
battle our way to heaven.
9)-JESUS
KNOWS THE MANY PROBLEMS OF FAITH WILL SURGE IN HIS CHURCH.
Martin
Luther, with his fatal erroneous doctrine “no priests,” has and continues to
throw millions and millions of souls out of the priestly means of salvation. Presently
there are more than 36,000 preachers separated from the successor of saint Peter.
Such preachers do not accept the will of Jesus to follow the man entrusted with
the keys of heaven.
10)-SAINT
PETER, FROM HIS THRONE IN HEAVEN, CANNOT GUIDE US AWAY FROM FALSE BELIEFS.
Jesus
specified his role to bind or to loose “on earth.” therefore, to loose or to bind pilgrims in
their problems of false creencias, the man with the power of the keys must be on
earth, he must be a pilgrim of eternity like all of us.
May
we read Jesus in his own words.
“AND WHATEVER
YOU BIND ON EARTH SHALL BE BOUND IN HEAVEN, AND WHATEVER YOU LOOSE ON EARTH
SHALL BE LOOSED IN HEAVEN.”
Jesus
in this revelation, ordered successors to the man entrusted with the keys of
heaven. Peter’s successors must continue
to fulfill the sacred duty to uphold the teachings of Jesus until the end of
the world.
11)-WHEN
SAINT PETER IS CRUCIFIED, THE CHURCH DID NOT CHOOSE SAINT JOHN FOR HIS
SUCCESSOR.
When
saint peter died crucified on a cross, the church did not choose the apostle
john to succeed saint peter. Saint john
was still living then.
12)-SAINT
LINUS (66-78) WAS ELECTED OUR SECOND POPE.
Saint
Irenaeus of Lyons in year 180 a.d., and
also Hegesippus year 160, and attested
by Eusebius year 260-340, affirmed saint
Linus was entrusted with the office of the apostles peter and Paul in Rome as
the first successor of saint peter. Thus,
he was named the first successor of saint peter.
This
Linus appears in saint Paul’s second letter to bishop timothy 2timoteo 4:21.
13)-EASTER
CELEBRATES THE GUIDE TO WHOM JESUS ENTRUSTED HIS FOLLOWERS TO GUIDE US IN OUR PILGRIMAGE TO ETERNAL LIFE.
Jesus
did not abandon us as prey to self proclaimed preachers, imposters who did not
belong to the apostolic succession in the church.
14)-JESUS,
CELEBRATING HIS RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD, GIVES US HIS MANDATE.
To
avoid believing in vain, each person is to follow the man chosen by Jesus
himself to hold the divine power of the keys of heaven on earth. Jesus wanted to entrust each one of us to the
guide he himself appointed to guide us down through centuries until the end of
the world.
15)-BEFORE
HE MET WITH JESUS, PETER’S NAME WAS
“SIMON BAR JONAH.”
Jesus
changed his name to “Peter.” Simon bar Jonah
died crucified. However, Peter lives in
the church in his successors. Let us
follow Peter in his successors.
In
this feast of the Resurrection of Christ Jesus from the dead, I wish to all my
students around the world a celebration of their faithfulness to the Man with
the keys of heaven on earth.
The professor.
