THE BEAUTY OF CREATION IS ENGULFED BY SIN.
“ON THE SIXTH DAY OF CREATION, GOD LOOKED AT
EVERYTHING HE HAS MADE AND HE FOUND IT VERY GOOD. Genesis 1:31.
1)- POPE BENEDICT XVI REFLECTS ON HIS LENTEN
RETREAT OF FEBRUARY 23, 2013.
POPE BENEDICT XVI MEDITATING DURING HIS LENTEN
RETREAT AFFIRMS THAT THE BEAUTY OF GOD’S CREATION IS OBSTRUCTED BY SIN.
May we read the Holy Father in his own words:
“On the
sixth day, God saw that creation was beautiful; such view of God’s creation is
always challenged in this world by evil, suffering, and corruption.”
2)-BENEDICT XVI REFLECTS ON THE FORCE OF EVIL IN
CREATION.
May we read the Holy Father in his own words:
“It almost seems that evil wants to permanently mIre creation, to
contradict God and to make His truth and His beauty unrecognisable. In a world
that is also so marked by evil, the 'Logos', eternal beauty and eternal 'ars',
should appear as the 'caput cruentatu'.
3)-THE HOLY FATHER WANTS US TO MEDITATE ON THIS
GOOD FRIDAY ON THE BEAUTY OF THE SON OF GOD.
EVEN THE BEAUTY OF THE SON OF GOD IS ENGULFED BY EVIL IN CREATION.
May we read the Holy Father in his own words:
“The incarnate Son, the incarnate 'Logos' is crowned with a crown of
thorns and, nevertheless, just that way, in this suffering figure of the Son of
God, we begin to see the most profound beauty of our Creator and Redeemer.”
4)-THE HOLY FATHER SEES LIGHT IN THE DARK NIGHT
OF EVIL.
May we read the Holy Father in his own words:
“In the silence of the 'dark
night' we can still hear the Word. Believing is nothing other than, in the
darkness of the world, touching the hand of God and thus, in silence, listening
to the Word, seeing Love.”
5)-THE HOLY FATHER ASKS US TO TURN TO SEE THAT
LIGHT.
May we read the Holy Father in his own beautiful
words:
“Who will show us what is good? We can answer, those who reflect God's light and face with their
lives.”
6)-JESUS
ON THE CROSS REFLECTS GOD’S LIGHT AND
FACE.
HIS
FACE CROWN WITH THORNS TOGETHER WITH THE DARKNESS OF EVIL AROUND HIM, JESUS
ENDOWS GOD’S LOVE FOR HIS ELECT. IN ALL
HIS SUFFERINGS, JESUS OOZES HIS HAPPINESS FOR HE HAS ACHIEVED OUR REDEMPTION. THIS
IS HIS GREATEST HAPPINESS.
7)-THE
GREATEST HAPPINESS OF JESUS CROWN WITH THORNS AND DYING ON THE CROSS.
JESUS’
GREATEST JOY ON THE CROSS HE SAW ALL THOSE WHO WILL ACCEPT HIS PRIESTLY POWERS
TO WORK THEIR SALVATION.
May
the good Lord bless us with his Eternal Love on this Good Friday to accept our
death with profound love and happiness.
The professor.
